Half-time: Wolves 0 Brentford 1

first_imgMarco Djuricin’s third goal of the season gave Brentford a thoroughly deserved lead at the break. The Austrian struck on 17 minutes, his shot deflecting off Danny Batth and looping over Wolves keeper Damian Martinez. While the finish may have owed a little to good fortune, the Bees excellent start to the game merited a goal.Alan Judge was particularly sharp early on, seeing a free-kick deflected wide, while Djuricin was a constant menace to the Wolves defence.Brentford’s passing was crisp, with Ryan Woods and John Swift linking up play well, and Wolves were limited to off-target efforts from James Henry and Adam Le Fondre.Bees keeper David Button was forced into his only save late in the first half when he palmed away an effort from Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo.Brentford: Button; Yannaris, Dean, Tarkowski, Bidwell; McCormack, Diagouraga; Judge, Woods, Swift; Djuricin.Subs: Bonham, Hofmann, Kerschbaumer, Vibe, Gogia, O’Connell, Canos.Follow West London Sport on TwitterFind us on Facebooklast_img read more

How Steph Curry influenced Luka Doncic and a new generation of scorers

first_imgDALLAS — Two months after being selected third overall in the 2018 draft, Luka Doncic flew to the Bay Area for a private workout with Stephen Curry. There, Doncic was exposed to the work Curry puts into honing his skills.“He does things you can’t guard,” Doncic told reporters last season. “It’s just nuts what he does.”More than a year later, after winning rookie of the year in his first season with the Dallas Mavericks, Doncic had the ball in his hands with less than 30 seconds left in a …last_img

Cape Town opens world class athletics stadium

first_img19 February 2015The new Green Point Athletics Stadium, upgraded by the City of Cape Town at a cost of R85-million, was officially opened by executive mayor Patricia de Lille on Wednesday.Young boys and girls who hoped to become the next global athletics icons would now have the opportunity to make that dream a reality, De Lille told assembled guests. The world-class facility now meets the technical standards set by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), De Lille said. The improvements include a state-of-the-art cobalt-blue tartan track and seating capacity for 4 500 spectators, making the stadium able to accommodate 1 000 more spectators than it did before. It is designed to be accessible by disabled people and has a VIP suite, changing rooms and a large reception area.Three tenants are to be housed in the facility: the Lions Club, the Cape Peninsula University of Technology Athletics Club, and the Western Province Athletics Federation. The stadium would be available for a range of athletics events – from school athletics days to national athletics competitions.“The scale and quality of this stadium will mean that learners will be able to perform on the same track as Olympic athletes,” De Lille said.Olympic silver medal winner Elana Meyer said at the opening on Wednesday that the new facility was “world class and it will inspire youth to join athletics”, The Times newspaper reported. She said the stadium reminded her of the first time she ran as a youngster on a tartan track.Meyer won silver at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.Cape Town has been chosen to host the World Triathlon Series in April. The new stadium will be used for the transition betweeen cycling and running, and for the finish.“We look forward to welcoming the best 65 men and 65 women triathletes in the world to our city to compete in this prestigious event,” De Lille said.“We look forward to the loud cheers and to many records being broken right here.”SAinfo reporterlast_img read more

P2P API Discovered in Latest Builds of Chromium

first_imgGrowing Phone Scams: 5 Tips To Avoid klint finley 7 Types of Video that will Make a Massive Impac… Related Posts How to Write a Welcome Email to New Employees?center_img Something called the P2P API can be turned on through the about:flags menu in the latest builds of Chromium, the open source browser that serves as the basis for Google Chrome. The discovery was made by Daniel Cawrey at thechromesource. The description of the option reads: “Enables P2P Pepper API and P2P JavaScript API. The API is under development, and doesn’t work yet.”For those not familiar, the Pepper Plugin API (PPAPI) is Google’s API for its Native Client (NaCl) plugin. NaCl, which we covered last year enables developers to run native C and C++ in Chrome 10.The trouble is that Chrome is the only browser with NaCl support, which could lead to Web fragmentation. As Sebastian Anthony writes for Switched: “If NaCl gains enough traction, Chrome could become the next IE6.” But since NaCl will be available as a plugin for other browsers, perhaps it would be more fair to say that NaCl could become the next Flash or Java. The main point, however, of NaCl is probably to enable developers to create more advanced applications, such as video editors or audio processors, for ChromeOS. Given that, it seems like the P2P API, whatever it is, will also be for ChromeOS developers. Still, we can hope that it will enable some cool distributed Web applications.Google has introduced another interesting feature recently: the ability to run Chrome Web Store apps in the background. The Cavs have been in a funk lately as they try to integrate four new players, but they got a win before embarking on a two-week, six-game trip.Cavs coach Tyronn Lue will stick with Nance as a starter while Thompson recovers from a sprained right ankle that will keep him out at least two weeks.
