The four-bedroom home at 430 Newnham Rd sold for $588,000 at auction. Marketing agent Nick Lonzar, of Ray White Stones Corner, said three bidders were vying for the property. “The opening bid was $450,000 and it went quite quickly from there,” he said. Mr Lonzar said a young Chinese family, looking to get into the Mansfield school catchment, bought the property. “The vendors were really happy — they get to move on with their future plans,” he said. Mr Lonzar said the area of Upper Mount Gravatt around Newnham Rd was proving popular with buyers. “I had about 44 groups through Newnham Rd and I sold a home on Garie St that went crazy. We had 100 people through it,” he said. “I’m seeing a lot of local Chinese buyers moving out of McGregor and Sunnybank and closer to Garden City.”last_img read more
