first_img1 John Stones with Phil Jagielka Everton defender John Stones has the complete support of the dressing room after his failed move to Chelsea, according to Leighton Baines.Chelsea repeatedly bid for the Barnsley defender in the summer window and Stones attempted to force the switch by handing in a transfer request, which was rejected.0Some sections of the Everton crowd were upset by how the England centre-half handled the situation, but left-back Baine says his reputation inside the Toffees dressing room is unharmed.“It has been relentless, particularly for John,” Baines said “Seeing him first-hand on a daily basis, it’s been difficult for him to deal with. He’s still a young lad.“It’s dragged on for such a long time and he’ll be happy now to see the end of it.“John knows how to play football – he’s being doing it all his life – he hasn’t had to cope with situations like this before.“It’s John who has to pick himself up now, dust himself down and move forward, and we’ve supported him all the way through it as a club and inside the dressing room.”last_img read more
