Now Taft’s scholars and their coaches can look forward to six more weeks of cracking the books before they represent the state at the national championship in San Antonio. Although Taft has a storied Acadeca past that includes two national titles, this marks the team’s first statewide victory in 13 years. That’s no mean feat given the competition – El Camino Real has won four titles, including the past two, and Moorpark has won two. Led by Los Angeles Unified schools, California teams have won 12 of 24 national Acadeca championships. And with Taft leading the charge, that ought to be 13 soon enough!last_img read more
