Tottenham starlet makes Bundesliga move

first_img Ismail Azzaoui Wolfsburg have signed attacking starlet Ismail Azzaoui from Tottenham for an undisclosed fee.Less than 24 hours after selling Kevin De Bruyne to Manchester City for £54m, the Bundesliga club swooped to bring in another Belgian in Azzaoui.The 17-year-old had been at Spurs since the summer of 2014 and was understood to be rated highly by the coaching staff at White Hart Lane.But Azzaoui, a Belgium youth international, leaves the north London club without having made a first team appearance.“We’ve been following Azzaoui’s progress for a long time now,” said Wolfsburg’s director of sport Klaus Allofs on his club’s website.“He’s a young player with plenty of potential who we expect to break into our first-team in the mid-term.“We will get a more precise and complete picture of his current level over the next few weeks and will then decide which of our teams [first team or reserves] he will begin playing in.” 1last_img read more
